Checkmates Charitable Association stands on the frontline in the fight against inflammatory bowel disease while providing vital support, advocacy, and hope to the ostomy community, colon cancer patients, and those battling mental illness.
Our mission is to help say “checkmate” to IBD and empower every individual facing adversity to live a full, confident, and meaningful life — because no one fights alone.
About Checkmates
Founded in 2014, Checkmates Charitable Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness, inspiring hope, and supporting those battling inflammatory bowel disease, living with ostomies, facing colon cancer, and struggling with mental health challenges.
What began as one person’s fight against ulcerative colitis has grown into a movement built on resilience, advocacy, community, and strength. Through fundraising events, awareness campaigns, hockey initiatives, and community outreach, Checkmates is committed to helping individuals and families feel seen, supported, and empowered.
