In January of 2015, Checkmates played it's first celebrity hockey game. Since that time we have played 4 celebrity hockey games with stars such as, Hockey Hall of Famer, Mark Howe, Flyers Hall of Famer, Brian Propp, Doug Crossman, Brian Boucher, Brad Marsh and Bob Kelly. These games have helped us raise over $30,000 which has gone to help those with inflammatory bowel disease. For 2020 Checkmates is teaming up with the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, Crohn's and Colitis Canada, the United Ostomy Associations of America and Ostomy Canada Society to create an international alliance to support those who suffer with IBD and those who live with an ostomy!
